| The kidding room - also used as a place to isolate new or sick animals. I think this was an old horse stall. There is a small door to the left that goes into the tack room where we store feed and supplies. In the back, there is a raised sleeping deck with sides to prevent drafts. If it's really cold, we hang a blanket over top - princess canopy bed style. There is a large dog pen there for confining goats - though we haven't had to use it yet. But, it's there just in case. As always, we have mineral feeders and fresh water in every pen. The water and hay buckets are on the front wall to the right. This room has a solid door for its entrance. There is a window with fancy blanket drapery from GoodWill. We have tube lighting in here and a shop light that we can hang up on the rafters for plenty of lighting inside when needed. |
